1. As a Domestic Visiting Student:
If you have permission from your current mentor, you can join our lab while remaining enrolled in your current graduate program as a domestic visiting student. The research period here will be counted as part of your official research period at your home institution.We also welcome M.D. students.
You may apply for the RIKEN Junior Research Associate (JRA) program and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) DC program.
2. As an International Program Associate (IPA)
RIKEN has a program for non-Japanese doctoral candidates attending a Japanese or overseas graduate school participating in RIKEN’s joint graduate school program. Read more >>International Program Associate

- Various single-cell analysis techniques (dry and wet)
- Research in developmental biology, reproductive biology, respiratory, and neurology
